Description de la campagne
Only few villages have access to early childhood education in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco depriving young children of a vital phase of their development.
Over the past five years, over 200 children have benefited from Teach4Morocco’s efforts to expand access to early childhood education by helping build quality early childhood learning centers in partnership with local and international organisations.
Around the world, concern about the importance of early childhood education is rising. Early childhood education is no longer perceived as accessory but rather fundamental to the development of young children and their school readiness.
At Teach4Morocco, we share the conviction that where you were born should not dictate what you become. Access to early childhood education was proven to have high returns on investment on the long run. In regions like the High Atlas mountains, primary school dropouts are a real challenge. However, students who spent at least one year in an early childhood education program have a lower likelihood of dropping out of primary school. Besides school readiness, early childhood education will offer young children in the High Atlas the opportunity to develop their socio-emotional and cognitive skills.
Each year, we are approached by new local associations interested in bringing early childhood to their villages and ensuring strong foundations for their children. This year, we worked with student Architect Ismail El Kasmi to develop a child-centered plan for Early Childhood Education in the Atlas. This plan offers the children a space that suits their needs and allows them to learn and thrive. The plan also preserves the local architectural heritage of the region.
Our goal is to pilot it in 2017 and scale up to reach hundreds of children across the High Atlas.
Join us in this journey by supporting our campaign and our vision of ensuring that early childhood education is no more a luxury of some but a right of all!
Join us to offer hundreds of young children the opportunity to live their best life stories!
